Traditional ratatouille is French stewed vegetable dish. The key ingredients in ratatouille are tomatoes, eggplant, garlic, onions, zucchini, and bell peppers. There are different ways to make ratatouille and we've made ours more traditional by cooking the vegetables in layers, or adding them to the pot at different times. The addition of beef makes this an entrée but if you omit the meat, you could serve the savory vegetables as a side dish.
